Susan B. Kelly

February 20, 1949 — October 20, 2024

Canfield, OH

Susan B. Kelly, 75, gracefully left this life on October 20, 2024, at The Inn at Walker Mill in Youngstown, Ohio, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on February 20, 1949, in Youngstown, Ohio, Susan’s life was a rich tapestry woven from her devotion to family, her adventurous spirit, and her endless creativity.

Susan graduated from Boardman High School. She later took up a career as the owner and operator of the Connecticut Western Reserve Gift Shop. She eventually went on to work as a library attendant at the Canfield Public Library. She flourished in this environment given she was an avid reader.

Susan lived a very colorful life that was reflected in her many hobbies and interests. She loved listening to her favorite music, a source of joy and comfort throughout her life. She was able to express her creativity through knitting and crocheting, which she was excellent at. Susan also relished the simple pleasures of life, whether it was playing bocce ball with her son Ryan or dreaming of the ocean while spending her retirement traveling across the United States in an RV with her devoted husband, Raymond.

Her unwavering love for her family was evident in her daily pursuits. She delighted in spending time with her sons, Mark (Verona) Axelson of Cincinnati and Ryan Axelson of Canfield. She held a special place in her heart for her step-children, Colleen (Jim) Yukech of Boardman, Brian Kelly of Youngstown, Tim Kelly of Youngstown, and Raymond (Melissa) Kelly IV of Youngstown. Susan also cherished her sister-in-law, Lynn Hadley, and was the proud grandmother of seven adoring grandchildren: Anna Axelson, Patrick Kale, Rory Kale, Mackenzie Kelly, Kasey Kelly, Shara Kaye Heslop, and Demar Heslop. These relationships were the foundation of her joy and purpose.

In addition to her living family, Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth (Williams) Hadley, her husband, Raymond P. Kelly, and her brother, Phil Hadley. Their memories will continue to inspire and guide those who loved her dearly.

Susan's life will be celebrated during a visitation on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home - Boardman-Canfield Chapel - 3701 Starr's Centre Dr., Canfield, Ohio.
