Susan E. Sackela

AUSTINTOWN - Susan E. Sackela, born on January 19, 1953, in Youngstown, passed away on May 14, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. 

Susan was a proud graduate of Boardman High School. She was a loving and devoted individual who dedicated her life to caring for her family and raising her sons. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she cherished spending quality time with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories for them to hold dear.

With a passion for arts and crafts and painting, Susan found joy in expressing herself creatively and sharing her talents with her grandchildren. She always loved teaching them new things and sharing experiences.

Susan is survived by her six sons: Rex (Gretchen) Crawford of Austintown, Steve (Amy) Crawford of Austintown, John (Irina) Hudgins of Tampa, FL, David Crawford of Canfield, Frank Sackela of Austintown, and Michael Sackela of Austintown. She is also survived by eight beloved grandchildren: Nick Crawford, Morgan Crawford, Carlie Crawford, Sarah Crawford, Nathan Crawford, Evelyn Hudgins, Dominic Crawford, and Gavin Sackela; as well as by her brother Carl Hudgins Jr. of CA.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Juanita Woods Hudgins; her husband, Frank F. Sackela; her sister, Judy Hudgins; and her brother, Mark Hudgins.

The visitation will be held on May 17 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
