POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 1 pm at St. Charles Borromeo Church for Susan "Assunta" Salvino Trombitas, 90, who died peacefully Tuesday afternoon at home surrounded by her family.
Susan was born Aug. 13, 1928, in Veroli, Italy, the daughter of Pio and Giuseppina (Anania) Passi.
She came to the United State in 1954 and worked as a hairdresser for many years.
Susan was a member of St. Charles Church and Professional Business Woman for many years. She was a fantastic cook and was known for making the best pizza and bread.
She is survived by two daughters, Michele (Jon) Cercel of Poland and Patty (Jeff) Richardson of Poland; two sons, Robert (Lana) Salvino of Apopka, Fla. and Michael (Sonia) Salvino of Twinsburg; sister Lenna Guido of Leetonia; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Salvino, whom she married Jan. 8, 1952 and died Sept. 12, 1968; her second husband, George Trombitas, whom she married in 1972 and died May 8, 2000; and her son, Frank Salvino.
Per Susan's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Boardman, OH 44512.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
