AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Susie Marie Semanovich, 96, who passed away early Sunday morning at Briarfield at Ashley Circle.
Susie was born May 17, 1916, in Sagamore, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Mary Dalinsky Oslick.
Susie was employed at Southside Hospital for five years cleaning offices; worked in the cafeteria at the Goodwill in downtown for eight years; and most recently she was employed with Dacus Food Services for 20 years, up until several months ago, when she went to Briarfield.
Susie received awards for her services she provided at Dacus Foods. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Simon Semanovich, whom she married in 1931, passed away in 1955.
Susie leaves her daughter, Bernadine James Patrick Gay of Canfield; her sister, Helen Gulish of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Michelle Scott Moore, Suzanne Zee Duron, Debbie Roger Gaff, Patty Charles Pustay, Linda Semanovich and Kenny Thomas; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Joseph Pauline Stanovich of Austintown.
Susie was preceded in death by a son, Richard Semanovich; two daughters, Frances Onderco and Bernadette Thomas; a granddaughter, Candance Semanovich; two sisters, Mary Bonish and Verne Stanovich; and a brother, John Oslick.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery.
