CORTLAND - Prayers will begin Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at noon at the Holy Family Church for Thomas W. Comerford, 59, who died early Monday morning at University Hospital in Cleveland.
Tom was born June 27, 1951, in Youngstown, the son of William J. and Jean E. Davis Comerford.
After graduating from Boardman High School in 1970, Tom began his working career working at the William B. Pollack Company as a drill press operator for seven years until its closing, and at Copperweld Steel for 22 years and was currently working for the past 10 years at the GM Lordstown plant as a company liaison for Comprehensive Logistics until the time of his illness. Tom enjoyed woodworking, riding his motorcycle and listening to blues music.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Maryellen and Joe Fleming of Poland; three nephews, Daniel H.J. Fleming, Michael Rebecca Fleming and Kevin Allison Fleming; his very best friends, Denise and Jim Ide; and his former wife, Diana Leancu.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Beatitude House in Tom's memory.
