AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for Thomas J. Dolansky, 68, who passed away Thursday at Hospice House.
Tom was born April 1, 1943, in Youngstown, the son of the late John J. and Anna P. Yanick Dolansky Sr.
Tom was a 1960 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. He was an assembler for GM Lordstown for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, UAW Local 1112 and the Western Reserve Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed going hunting with his best buddy, Bob Veauthier, gardening, and spending time with his daughters. His greatest joy was his two puppies, Chloe and Maddie.
Tom leaves his wife, the former Janice P. Poghen, whom he married April 25, 1970; two daughters, Mary-Margaret A. Michael Dolansky-Kohut of North Ridgeville and Anna-Marie H. Dolansky of Austintown; two brothers, John J. Helen Dolansky Jr. of Lisle, Ill. and Edward J. Cecelia Dolansky of Poland; and several nieces and nephews.
Tom was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; a sister, Mary Ann Dolansky; his mother and father-in-law, Angelo and Margaret Poghen; and a sister-in-law, Helene Poghen.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Robert Veauthier and Mary Hulme for their kindness they showed the family in their time of need.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice House in Poland.
Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery.
