POLAND - Prayers will begin Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Thomas Paul Donegan, 71, who died Saturday afternoon surrounded by his family.
Thomas was born in 1947, in Warren, the son of Paul and Eleanor (Egan) Donegan.
He was a 1964 graduate of Ursuline High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country during the Vietnam War. Thomas worked at the Vienna Air Force base for the Department of Defense until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of the Holy Family Church, the Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, Tri-County Metal Detecting Club, and the VFW 2799 New Springfield.
Thomas is survived by his wife, the former Anna Riwniak, whom he married in 1967; two sons, Michael (Virginia) Donegan of Cleveland and Robert Donegan of New Middletown; and four grandchildren, Kathleen Donegan, Shane Donegan, Megan Donegan and Matthew Donegan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may call Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to The American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St. Canfield, OH 44406.
