STRUTHERS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, St Nicholas Church, with Fr. Bob Bonnot for Thomas P. Glova, 79, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, in the comfort of his home and surrounded by family.
Tom was born in 1936, in Youngstown.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he served with the Guided Missile Test Unit. He was employed as a lineman at Ohio Edison for 40 years, having retired in 1996. Tom was a dedicated family man and an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He loved being involved with his children and grandchildren as they grew up playing sports. He was an active member of Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church.
He leaves his loving wife, Catherine Jean Glova, whom he married in 1960; his daughter, Karen Swierz; three sons and their wives, Paul (Terri) Glova, Mike (Sangeetha) Glova, and Greg (Chrissy) Glova; 11 wonderful grandchildren, Cheryl Swierz, Christina Swierz, Rebecca (Steven) Margevicius, Austin Glova, Abby Glova, Jacob Glova, Divya Glova, Meghan Glova, Kayla Glova, Lauren Glova, Krysta Glova; and his sister, Helen Kukura.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary (Franko) Glova and a sister, Catherine Bozick.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, Feb. 9, prior to the celebration of Tom's life, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
