NEW MIDDLETOWN - Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Poland United Methodist Church for Thomas M. Hatmaker, 57, who passed away Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Thomas was born Sept. 19, 1953, in Salem to Dr. William F. and Olga Evankovich Hatmaker Sr.
Thomas was a 1972 graduate of Springfield Local. He graduated from Barber College and Choffin in Nursing. He was a barber for over 10 years and was an LPN for Enrichment Center Inc. He loved sports and NASCAR. His greatest love was for his grandchildren.
Thomas leaves his wife, the former Susan Barber, whom he married May 8, 1981; his mother, Olga Hatmaker of Poland; two sons, Billy Michelle Joyce of New Middletown and Travis Tara Hatmaker of Mineral Ridge; a sister, Jayne Green of Pittsburgh; a brother, William F. Kathy Hatmaker Jr. of Columbiana; and two grandchildren, Jakob and Hallie Joyce.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, William T. and Bessie Hatmaker; and his maternal grandparents, Mary and Michael Evankovich.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel and Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Springfield Township Rescue Squad.
