YOUNGSTOWN - A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Thomas M. Hewitt, 79, who passed away early Thursday morning at Vista Center of Boardman.
"Tom" was born July 28, 1937, in Youngstown, a son of the late Richard and Mary (Meenihan) Hewitt.
Tom was a graduate of Chaney High School.
He was employed for 24 years with Wean United up until their closing. He then retired from Girard Machine as a drill press operator. Tom was also member of Youngstown Road Runners.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing and camping.
Tom is survived by his wife, the former, Corinne M. Bonini, whom he married Dec. 14, 1985; a son, Kenny (Patty) Hewitt of North Jackson; daughters Kathy (David) Jones of North Lima and Kelli (Jay) Rago of Lake Milton; a stepson, Christopher Baker of Bullhead City, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Nick, Angel, Cameron, Katie, Madeline, and Jacob; and a brother, Philip Hewitt of Sacramento, Calif.
Tom was preceded in death by four sisters, Noralee Ross, Shirley Sebulsky, Georgine Yeager, and Lavina "Dolly" Kosap.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
