POLAND - Prayers will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Thomas M. Kesic Sr., 87, who passed away Wednesday at the Commons at Greenbriar.
Tom was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Youngstown, a son of the late Ignatius and Agatha (Naglic) Kesic.
Tom was graduated from Wilson High School.
He was co-owner and founder of Kesic Brothers Flooring and Kesic Brothers Land Company with his brothers, John and Ignatius, since 1948 for 55 years.
Tom was a member of the Croation Fraternal Union on Vestal Road and co-founding member of the Holy Family Church.
Tom enjoyed fishing and moose hunting in Canada. He loved to vacation on Kiawah Island, S.C. and Hutchinson Island, Fla., with his family. He also enjoyed going every Saturday with his breakfast club to What's Cooking.
Tom leaves his wife, the former Frances "Fran" Albanesi, whom he married Jan. 26, 1952; his two daughters, Denise (Lawrence) Crookshanks of Concord and Kim (Brent) Moellering of Westerville; a son, Thomas M. Kesic Jr. of Poland; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Michael Crookshanks; and two sisters, Zora Kosanyar of Boardman and Carol Garea of Youngstown.
Tom was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kesic; two sisters, Mary Mikicic and Barbara Evans; and four brothers, George, Steve, John, and Ignatius Kesic.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Thomas M. Kesic Sr. requests that contributions be made in his memory to the Commons at Greenbriar Activity Fund c/o Kelly Doctor, 18060 South Ave., Boardman, OH 44512.
Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
