POLAND - Prayers will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Thomas L. Lundeen, 91, who passed away Tuesday at Greenbriar Nursing Home.
Thomas was born Sept. 6, 1921, in New Castle, Pa., a son of the late Oliver S. and Loretta (Martin) Lundeen.
Thomas graduated in June of 1940 from East High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Youngstown State University in 1955.
He retired in 1982 as traffic manager of Youngstown Steel Door Company. Thomas was active in the traffic division of Youngstown Chamber of Commerce. He was a life member and former president of the Youngstown Traffic Club and a member of Curbstone Coaches. Thomas was a World War II veteran, serving with 3rd Army in Europe.
His wife, the former Jean C. Fleming, whom he married June 23, 1951, passed away July 21, 2012.
Thomas leaves his three children, James (Rosemary) Lundeen of Fishers, Ind., Mary Lou (Albert) Moore of Austintown and Kathryn Lundeen of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Laurie Lundeen, Melissa (Josh) Rosen, Jessica Moore and Scott Moore; and a great-grandson, Gabriel Rosen.
Thomas was also preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Patrick and two brothers, Oliver J. and William Lundeen.
The Lundeen family would like to thank the staff at Greenbriar for all of their care over the years.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
