AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Monday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at St. Columba Cathedral for Thomas P. McMahon age 86 of Austintown who passed away Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Tom was born November 16, 1918, in DuBois, Pa., the son of Thomas P. and Hazel O'Brian McMahon Sr.
He was a 1940 graduate of Villanova College where he received a Bachelors in Science in Business, and had worked for Conrail Railroad for over 38 years retiring as a chief clerk in 1979. He was a member of St. Columba Parish, and had been an usher, alter server, and had been a former member of its church council. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 3298 in Austintown.
He is survived by his wife the former Margaret O'Neil whom he married February 12, 1949, three daughters Kathleen and husband Steve Platz of Poland, Peggy McMahon of Austintown, and Ann and husband John Ostrowski of Austintown, four sons, Thomas P. of Youngstown, Bill and his wife Sue of Austintown, Dennis of Austintown, and Michael of Boardman, and eleven grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
