CANFIELD - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Thomas E. Naughton, 62, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, at home, surrounded by his wife and family, after a brief illness.

Thomas was born on Feb. 9, 1952, the son of John D. and Marjorie (Staub) Naughton, and lived in Youngstown his entire life.

He attended Ursuline High School and Youngstown State University, graduating in 1981 with a B.A. in Industrial Marketing.

Thomas enjoyed all that life had to offer. He embraced the role of son, husband, father, and his new role of "Pop-Pop" to his three beautiful grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending weekends on the golf course with his friends and at his second home in Anthem, Ariz.

He was a 15-year member of the Youngstown Country Club, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Youngstown State Foundation and the Humility of Mary Health Partners.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Karen (Cain) Naughton, whom he married June 30, 1973; his sons, Shane Naughton (Lindsey) of Chicago and Christopher Naughton (Jessica) of Weirton, W.Va.; grandchildren Avery, Keegan, and Conner; brothers John Daniel (JoAnn) of Canfield and Terrence (Carol) of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister Kathleen Loomis (Tim) of Canfield; mother-in-law Letitia Cain; sisters-in-law Susan Donnelly (James) of Canfield, Kathleen Cain of Boulder, Colo., and Kathleen Hull Cain of Canfield; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Daniel and Marjorie Naughton and his sister, MaryJo Naughton.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Higgins Reardon Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday from 9:30 to 10a.m. at the church.

The family would like to thank the Center for Palliative Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic and M.V.I. Hospice for their care and compassion given to him during his illness.
