Thomas Nugen Sr.

LOWELLVILLE - Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel for Thomas R. Nugen Sr., 71, who passed away Friday at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Tom was born July 9, 1947, in Youngstown, son of the late David E. and Lulu I. (Lepley) Nugen.
Tom was a 1965 graduate of Struthers High School and received an associate degree from Youngstown State University in Business Administration and Computer Science.
He was a member of the Western Star Masonic Lodge 21. He had a passion for working on old cars, going to various car shows, and attending races. Tom loved traveling with his wife, and working in the yard. He was “Mr. Fix It,” always tinkering around the house and looking for his next project. His greatest love was for his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, the former Kathleen McClure, whom he married Feb. 1, 1969; three children, Tom R. (Jodi) Nugen Jr. Maineville, Jenny Nugen Lowellville, and Megan (fiance, Debbie Zappia) Nugen of Struthers; six grandchildren, Tom III, Dominic, Emily Nugen, Hannah and Jessica Johnston, and Sidney Price; and  sister-in-law Jane Nugen of Struthers.
Tom was also preceded in death by a brother, Bob Nugen and a niece, Cheryl Ann Nugen.
Family and friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
