AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Brendan Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. James Daprille celebrant, for Thomas Sangialosi, 50, of Youngstown, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at the Hospice House after his courageous battle with stomach cancer.
Thomas was born Sept. 26, 1960, in Philadelphia and moved to Austintown in 1968.
Over the last 20 years, Thomas was employed in the wireless industry as an engineer, working with companies such as Dobson Cellular, Cingular Wireless, AT&T and Black and Veatch.
He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.
Thomas was a 1978 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, as did both his mother and father.
Thomas is survived by his son, Anthony of Austintown; his mother, Mary Lou Witt and her husband, Bob of Youngstown; his father, Samuel and his wife, Pat of Gardners, Pa.; a brother, Sam of Denver; a sister, Susan Katko and her husband, Michael of Johnson City, Tenn.; along with his niece, Rachael; and nephews Ryan, Christopher and Jacob. Thomas is also survived by his closest confidante, Noodles the cat.
Friends may call at the church from 10:15 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
