YOUNGSTOWN A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthias Church for Thomas J. Voytko, 80, who passed away early Thursday morning at Hospice House.
Tom was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Susan Vescur Voytko.
Tom was a 1948 graduate of Wilson High School. He was a veteran in the Army, serving in the Korean War in the 21st Evacuation Hospital. Tom worked at LTV Steel and then at MRDD and Leonard Kurtz Workshop for 14 years. He was a member of the VFW No. 4237, American Legion No. 301, Eagles No. 213, Disabled American Vets, Jednota Lodge No. 682 and Sokols No. 108. He also enjoyed to golf.
Tom leaves his two sons, Thomas Kathy Voytko of New Middletown and Dennis Debbie Voytko of North Jackson; two sisters, Vern Misalko of Boardman and Margaret Voytko of Youngstown; a brother, Edward Voytko of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Steven, Daniel, Andrew, Danielle and Dana; and three great-grandchildren, Merrill, Jocelyn and Leigha.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael ³Mickey² Voytko; a sister, Mary Pera; and two brothers, Joseph and Charles Voytko.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes can take the form of donations to the Hospice House.
Arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes.
