POLAND ? A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Church for Victoria J. Reto, 83, who died Friday morning at Sunrise of Poland.
Victoria was born in Youngstown Nov. 2, 1926, to the late Vito and Lucia DiTunno Guglielmi, who emigrated from the Abruzzo region of Italy.
She graduated from East High School in 1945 as the class Salutatorian, and from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1948. For over 40 years she worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Labor and Delivery and Employee Health.
Victoria was a member of the Poland Friends of the Library, the Poland KC-ettes, and the Women?s Committee for Children?s Concerts at the Youngstown Symphony.
She loved classical music, and she and her husband were season ticket holders at the Youngstown Symphony for over 35 years.
Besides her parents, Victoria was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic Reto Sr., whom she married in 1950, and who died in 1987; her sisters, Stella Tuchek, Ann Angelo, Marie Kane, Virginia Stevens, and Rose Guglielmi; and her brothers, Anthony, Ralph, and Alfred Guglielm.
She is survived by her daughters, Regina Bill Rees of Poland and Judith Wagley of Michigan; a son, Dominic Nicole Reto of Poland; five grandchildren, Michael Wagley of Belgium, Mark Wagley of Michigan, Michael Reto of New York, Natalie Dan Stockdale of Columbus, and Jeanine Rees of Washington, D.C.; and a great-grandson, Landon Stockdale.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church.
Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, and Tuesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise of Poland and Southern Care Hospice for the love and care they gave Victoria.
