Vincent J. Zmith II

AUSTINTOWN - Vincent J. Zmith II, age 76, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday March 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 8, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of the late Vincent J. and Juanita Cline Zmitrovitz.

Vincent was a proud graduate of The Rayen School, Class of 1966, and furthered his education at Youngstown State University. For 25 years, he excelled in his career as a construction estimator, beginning with Shutrump and Associates before joining S.E.T. in Lowellville, where he would ultimately retire.

Highly involved in his community, Vincent was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church for 45 years, serving as an adult altar server and participating in the Christ Renews His Parish program as a lay director for Team 11. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including golfing, where he served as secretary and treasurer of the St. Joseph Golf League #2. As an avid boater, Vincent shared his love for the water by instructing boating safety courses with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also an active member of the Mat Fans of Austintown.

A devoted fan of Ohio State, Vincent relished the camaraderie of tailgating. He was a loyal supporter of his granddaughters as they pursued their athletic endeavors. He cherished the time spent at his second home in Port Charlotte, Florida, where many treasured memories were made.

Vincent is survived by his wife, Linda C. Sveda, whom he married October 31, 1970; a daughter, Carrie E. (Brendon) Halvorsen of Tarpon Springs, FL; son, Vincent J. (Whitney) Zmith III of Poland; granddaughters, Avery C. and Zayna V. Zmith; brother-in-law, Theodore (Janet Seehausen) Sveda of Chicago, ILL; niece, Jean Marie Clacko; great nephew, James V. Clacko II; and his chocolate lab granddog, Lexie.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Clacko; nephew, John Clacko; and his wife's parents, Theodore and Veronica Sveda.

A Mass of Christian Burial, will be held at St. Joseph Church on March 29, 2025, at 12:00 PM. with the Rev. Msgr. Peter Polando. Prior to the Mass, calling hours will be held at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, from 9 to 11:15 AM.

Vincent will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery in Lowellville.
