POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at noon at St. Charles Church for Violet Y. Pallotta, 100, who passed away Thursday at the Woodlands Assisted Living.
Violet was born Nov. 26, 1916, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Santo and Filomena (DiBlasio) Pallotta.
Violet was a 1935 graduate of South High School. She was employed with the Mahoning County Jobs and Family Services for 30 years as an administrative assistant. She then worked for Frank's Electric as a book keeper for 15 years, retiring in 1981.
Violet loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes. She was also made the best pitzzels and she always had juicy fruit gum in her purse.
Violet leaves 11 nieces and nephews, Michael DeBartolo, Gloria Bushman, Carol Southerland, Phyllis LaPlante, Vince "Sonny" Stevens, Deborah Burk, Daniel Reichard, Douglas Reichard, Sandra Petroccoro, Suzanne Christianson, and John Reichard.
Violet was preceded in death by four sisters, Rose Pallotta, Carmel Stevens, Adeline DeBartolo, and Dolly Reichard; and a brother, Albert Pallotta.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at the church.
