AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Violet Alveretta Wayne, 93, who passed away peacefully Sunday morning at her home.
Violet was born March 4, 1918, in New Eagle, Pa., the daughter of the late Robert and Regina Wise Kennedy.
During the war, Violet worked for General Fireproofing for 2 1/2 years, making airplane parts. Violet was a clerk for Hills Department Store for 8 1/2 years, retiring in 1978 and she was a member of Boardman Baptist Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her husband, Frank Ambrose Wayne, whom she married July 21, 1936, passed away July 26, 1969.
Violet leaves a sister, Regina E. Hudak of Boardman and several nieces and nephews.
Violet was also preceded in death by a sister, Audrey W. Toomey and two brothers Albert and Donald Kennedy.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
