Virginia Berquist

Canfield - There will be services Monday at 1:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Virginia Elizabeth Berquist age 92, who passed away early Friday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.

Virginia was born September 21, 1913 in Youngstown, the daughter of Lloyd J. and Jeanette Ague Cook Sr.

Virginia moved to this area in 2003, after living in Missouri for 12 years. Virginia was involved in ministries with her late husabnd. She ministered in Youngstown then McDonald Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Florida, New Jersey and Missouri. Virginia and her husband held camp meetings throughout the United States and Europe. Virginia was formerly an active member of Highway Tabernacle in Austintown. She most recently was a member of the Canfield United Methodist Church.

Her husband Rev. Ernest V. Berquist, whom she married in Feb. of 1935, died July 12, 2002.

Virginia is survived by three sister in laws Nina M. Cook of Canfield, Gloria Cook of Dunedin, FLA, and Judy Scharold and husband Dr. Frank Scharold; two brothers in laws Russell Bequeath of McDonald and Donald Berquist of Mesa Arizona; a niece Laurel Rupert of Dale City, VA and she left behind many nieces and nephews and their families.

Besides her parents and husband, Virginia is preceded in death by a sister Jean Bequeath and two brothers Lloyd J. Cook Jr. and David L. Cook.

Friends may call Monday from 12 noon until time of service at 1:00PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
