STRUTHERS - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at noon at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, for Walter "Chuter" Baber Sr., 63, who died suddenly Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Chuter was born May 4, 1952, in Youngstown, the son of Clarence "Chic" and Dolores (McConnell) Baber.
He was a 1970 graduate of Struthers High School. Chuter was part owner of Big B Automotive for many years and most recently, manager of Fisher Auto Parts.
Chuter was a Mason for Western Star No. 0021. Next to spending time with his family, his greatest passions were golfing and bowling, and accomplished two hole-in-ones and a 300 game. He looked forward to his yearly golf trip to Conley Inn Resort with his friends and sons.
Chuter is survived by his wife, the former Cathy Frazier, whom he married July 22, 1972; three sons, Walter "Chuter" (Melinda) Baber Jr. of Struthers, Brian (Carlynn) Baber of Cortland and Robert (Taylor) Baber of Germany; a brother, Clarence "Mike" Baber of Struthers; and 10 grandchildren, Olkle, Skylar, Delaney, Olivia, Chance, Brennan, Kaydance, Adysan, Camden, and Derek.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dolores "Sissy" Querriera.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
