Walter Finnie

August 10, 1928 — July 24, 2004

BOARDMAN-Masonic services will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Walter S. "Bud" Finnie, Jr. age 75 of Melbourne Ave. who died Saturday morning at Forum Northside Medical Center. Bud was born August 10, 1928, in Youngstown. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, and had worked for Ohio Edison for over 40 years, retiring in 1989 as the supervisor of its Eastern area dispatching office. Bud was an active member of the Masons, serving as Worshipful Master of Argus Lodge in 1971, a former member of the Aut Mori Grotto, and had served as an advisor to the Order of DeMola, and the Order of Rainbow for girls. He had also been a longtime member of the Boardman Band Boosters.
His wife the former Georganne Fitch whom he married August 28, 1951, died March 11, 1997. He is survived by a daughter Karen A. Hoffman of Boardman, a son Tom and his wife Pam Finnie of Hilton Head, SC, a brother James and his wife Billie Finnie of Ft. Myers, FLA., four grandchildren Sarah M. Hoffman, and Tyler, Ryan, and Tim Finnie. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his mother Anna Mae Burns, and step father Eugene Burns, and a sister Dorothy Ziegler.
Friends May call from 4 PM to 7 PM Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
