CANFIELD - William H. Barbour passed away Thursday morning at his home in Canfield.
Bill was born July 19, 1947, in Youngstown, son of the late John D.R. and Louise (Timm) Barbour.
He was a 1965 graduate of Boardman High School and received both his BBA and MBA from Ohio University. He retired from Star Extruded Shapes.
Bill is survived by his wife, the former Claar King, whom he married in 1970; four daughters, Elizabeth (Gary Wagner) Barbour of Solon, Hillary (Matthew) Thompson of Columbus, Margaret (Joseph Cora) Barbour of New York City, N.Y., and Alexis (Brian Mamula) Barbour of Columbus; two sisters, Carol (Steven) Archer of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Joan Darnell of Boardman; seven grandchildren, Grace, Adeline, William Henry “Hank,” Eleanor, Amelia, Shea, Jocelyn, and a grandson expected in the fall. He also leaves mother-in-law Betty King of Granville; sister-in-law Dixie (Mark) Douglas of Granville; and brother-in-law Scott (Charlene) King of Bidwell.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. He greatly valued annual family trips to Baptist Lake in Ontario, Canada which spanned over 30 years and included all his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Above all else, Bill loved being around children, particularly his grandchildren and the neighborhood children, who all held a special place in his heart.
Family and friends may call Saturday, March 23, 2019, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
