POLAND - William Gregory Blunt, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House on March 2, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born on October 19, 1946, in Youngstown, a son of the late Vernon and Mary Angel Blunt.
A proud veteran, Greg served in the United States Navy from August 25, 1964, until October 18, 1967. Following his military service, William pursued a career as an operating engineer for Bruce and Merrilees in New Castle, Pennsylvania, where he became a respected member of Local Union 66.
Greg was a devoted family man who considered his wife, Judy, to be the love of his life. Their bond was unbreakable; they did everything together, sharing countless adventures, memories and seeing them dance together. After losing her, he found it difficult to carry on without her, ultimately indispensable to what many believe to be a broken heart. She was his everything.
In addition to his love for family, Greg was an avid golfer. He cherished memorable trips to Hawaii with his wife and close friends, where laughter and joy were abundant. He also found excitement in the bright lights of Las Vegas, where he and his companions shared laughter, stories, and cherished memories.
Greg is survived by his daughter, Gwynn (Greg) Hunter of Poland; son, Jason Blunt of Palm Springs, CA; four grandchildren, Garett, Gage, Gracie Hunter, and Amelia Blunt; step-granddaughter, Audrey Engvalson and her son, Fin Engvalson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Judith "Judy" A. Rowe Blunt, who he married Nov. 2, 1968 and passed away Feb 10, 2025; his siblings. Mary Caroline Melone, Bess Ann Continenza, Vernon "Bro", George and Harry "Butch" Blunt.
A Celebration of Greg's life will be held at a later date.
The Blunt family would like to thank all of their family and friends that have helped them through this difficult time.
