YOUNGSTOWN - A memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. George Byzantine Catholic Church for William F. Cholensky, 55, who passed away Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Bill was born Oct. 18, 1956, in Youngstown, a son of the late Frank and Mary Takach Cholensky.
Bill graduated from Chaney High School and then graduated with honors from the Ohio Institute of Technology in 1976. He was a tech support specialist and worked most recently at Rexam. He was a former member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church.
He was a long time resident of California and returned to the area in December of 2011. He enjoyed racquetball, weight lifting, photography and was a musician.
Bill was a gentle, loving, generous and fun person to be around. He had a very hearty laugh that was very contagious.
Bill's long battle with MS is finally over. In his usual generous way he left behind both kidneys, and liver to save three other lives.
Bill leaves a niece, Jennifer Alexander of Houston; a nephew, Jonathan Pollock of Chicago; many cousins from Ohio; very close loving friends in California; his dearest friends, Jenny Sanangel and Kent Cathy Lindsay; and his loving caretakers, Caroline and Ken.
Bill was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Alexander and Franny Pollock.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to the family or the MS Association.
