Poland. . . . . . Services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church, Youngstown for Mr. William Hunt, age 77, of Poland who died Monday evening in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Hunt was born March 17, 1927, in Youngstown a son of Thomas A. and Sara Jane Wheeler Hunt. He was employed by General Motors as an inventory clerk for 22 years retiring in 1988 previously was employed by the Tee Nee Trailer Company. He was a 1946 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, a W.W.II Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 565 where he was the chaplain. William is a member of the church a former elder and trustee an assistant secretary of the Sunday School, a member of the Sunday School Bowling team, a member of the Jolly Rovers and currently was the head usher. William was president of two men's senior bowling leagues at the Holiday Bowl and a member of the 9 No-Tap Bowling League. He participated five years in the Senior Olympics were he was a medalist.
He leaves his wife the former Sarajane MacLochlan whom he married June 5, 1948, two daughters linda Gary Burns of Hubbard and Jodi Hunt of Poland; two sons William D. Hunt of Baltimore, Md. and Brad CeceliaHunt of Fair Haven, Vermont and a brother Richard Mary Hunt of Boardman; Eleven grandchildren Bret, Benjamin and Matthew Hunt, Kevin, Timothy, Tina, Teresa, Caleb, Careyand Heidi Burns and Vickie Burns Johnson and 8 Great-grandchildren and his dog Noel. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Thomas G. Hunt and his faithful dog Holly .
Friends may call Thursday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Poland Chapel and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. The family request memorial contributions to the church.
