William Kern

April 8, 1931 — January 9, 2005

AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Wednesday at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for William Bill Robert Kern age 73 of Austintown who passed away peacefully early Sunday morning surrounded by his family following a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer.
A lifelong area resident, Bill was born April 8, 1931, the son of William and Florence Kinsel Kern. He grew up in Smoky Hollow, attended East High School, and had worked at the Pool Hall at the Tod House Hotel. He later worked at the Raymond Concrete Pile Company, and United Engineering & Foundry. After a brief retirement, Bill established his own business, WRK Enterprises, where he practiced his love for wood crafting.
Bill was known as a hard worker, good friend and neighbor, and never hesitated to provide his time and effort to be of help.
He was a member of the church, a sports fan, and enjoyed drawing. Bill possessed a passion for reading, he especially enjoyed reading about his favorite subject science.
A beloved and dedicated husband, father, and friend, Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years the former JoAnne Adams, whom he married January 25, 1957, three daughters, Terrie Malandra of Austintown, Kelly Andrew Burcsak of Canfield, and Korina Kern of Boardman, four sons, Kevin of Canfield, Zachary of Oak Park, Kansas, Cole, and Sean Dianna Kern both of Beaver Twp., ten grandchildren Desirina, Tiffany, Blaise, Jr., Paige, Chase, Ava, Sydney, Aidan, Cole, Jr., and Isabella.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a grandmother Carmella DeRose Marzano.
Bill's family appreciates everyone's thoughts and prayers as they mourn their loss. They give thanks to everyone who shared their friendship during his illness, and to all those who were touched by Bill throughout his life. His life will never be forgotten.
There are no calling hours.
