AUSTINTOWN - A prayer service will be held Monday, March 26, 2012, at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Cathedral for Mr. William "Bill" McMahon who died Wednesday at his residence.
He was born March 3, 1951, in Youngstown, a son of Thomas and Margaret O'Neil McMahon.
Bill was a 1969 graduate of Ursuline High School and had worked for 42 years for the railroad, retiring in 2011 from Norfolk Southern Railroad as an engineer and was a member of the BLET Union.
He loved spending time with his family, especially at the beaches in North and South Carolina and he enjoyed NASCAR, but his greatest joy is his two year old grandson, Timothy Jr.
Bill leaves his wife, Sue Michalenok, whom he married July 7, 1973; two sons, William Alaina McMahon Jr. and Timothy Michelle McMahon, both of Poland; a grandson, Timothy Jr.; three sisters, Kathleen Steve Platz of Poland, and Peggy McMahon and Ann John Ostrowski, both of Austintown; and three brothers, Thomas McMahon of Youngstown, Dennis McMahon of Austintown and Michael McMahon of Boardman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
