WILLIAM DAVID 'DAVE' MILLICH
AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for William David "Dave" Millich, 74, who died Monday evening surrounded by family at the home of his son in Austintown.
Mr. Millich, who was known as Dave by his family and friends, was born Dec. 5, 1937, in Campbell, the son of Lazo and Anna Tirpack Millich.
He attended Campbell Memorial High School. He began working at Hassey Brothers garage and Fiffick's garage as a young teen. He then worked at Republic Steel and later retired from Thomas Steel Strip in Warren after 36 years. While working at Thomas Steel he also moonlighted as a mechanic at Sears auto garage.
Dave enjoyed woodworking, working on cars and taking his classic car to car shows and cruises, where he had won numerous trophies. He had been a member of the Clutch Busters Car Club during the 50s.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Lauralee Townsend; a son David Donna Millich of Austintown; three grandchildren, Eric Jada Landgraver, Brian Heather Landgraver and Jamie Landgraver and her fiance, Will Guthrie; two great-grandchildren, Cade and Kenley Landgraver; two sisters, Martha Raseta and Rose "Ann" Millich of Youngstown; two brothers, John Millich of Austintown and Edward Patty Millich of Lake Milton; and many nieces and nephews.
Dave will also be missed by his faithful dog, Teddy.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Steve, Dan, Nick, Mike, Lazo and Pete Millich; and one sister, Lillian Millich.
The Millich family would like to thank Drs. Koval and Miller, the staff at Northside Hospital, Hospice of the Valley and their wonderful caring staff and his family, friends and neighbors for their help and support during his illness.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley in Dave's memory.
