BOARDMAN - Prayers will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for William M. Rigley, 71, who passed away Sunday at Hospice House.
William was born Sept. 24, 1941, in Youngstown, a son of the late Michael and Anne Friedman Rigley.
William was a 1959 graduate of Fitch High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a member of the first Austintown Fitch football team to win a Steel Valley Championship and the team was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010. He also played baseball for the championship team in Steel Valley League. William was director of training for Schwebel's for 37 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed bocce, bowling and golf.
William leaves his wife, the former Barbara Ann Wilkie, whom he married Sept. 19, 1964; his daughter, Deb Frank Fuller of Austintown; his son, Bill Dusty Rigley of Mineral Ridge; his sister, Virginia Dom Lucarell and their children, Linda and Dom of Youngstown; his brother, Dennis Rigley of Youngstown; and his five grandchildren, Zack, Ashley, and Carson Fuller, and Trey and Laney Rigley.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
