BOARDMAN - There will be services Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Poland Chapel for William H. Uehlinger, 83, who passed away early Friday morning at Shepard of the Valley.
William was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Youngstown, a son of Henry Uehlinger and Hazel Barnes McAuley.
William was a 1941 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a 1967 graduate of Youngstown University. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army. He worked at Ohio Bell for 42 years. William was a member of the Western Star Lodge No. 21 for more than 60 years. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and several golf
leagues. He was a member of Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church.
His wife, the former Betty Davison, whom he married Oct. 5, 1946, passed away July 11, 2004.
He leaves a daughter, Joan Coy of New Middletown; three sons, William H. Uehlinger Jr. of Geneva, Richard Cathy Uehlinger of South Carolina, and Robert Karla of Youngstown; a stepbrother, James McAuley of Enon Valley, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Bill, Kristen, Jim, Ted, Jennifer, Kara, Caly; three stepgrandchildren, Amy, Ann and Jay; three great-grandchildren,
Charlie, Greggie, and Victoria; and four stepgreat-grandchildren, Adrienne, Adison, Anderson, and Brett.
Besides his parents and wife, William was preceded in death by his a son and daughter-in-law, Ted L. Cindy Dama Uehlinger; a son-in-law, Jack Coy; and his stepfather, Rev. Harry McAuley.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brownlee Woods
Presbyterian Church.
