POLAND ? A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church for William E. Terihay, 84, who passed away Saturday evening at his home.
William was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Youngstown, the son of Steve and Stepanie Bohachak Terihay.
William attended Wilson High School. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic Pacific from 1943 to 1946.
He was a charging machine operator for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 30 years. William also was a small engine mechanic for Electric Equipment.
He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, American Croation Club, Croation Lodge 66, Croation Pensions and the OPERS.
William leaves his wife, the former Mildred ?Millie? Sardich, whom he married Jan. 27, 1998; his son, Stephen Suzanne Terihay of Berlin Center; his daughter, Darlene Donald Christian of Poland; his sister, Blanche Smrek of Poland; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; his stepchildren, Stephanie Peter Messina of Sharon, Pa., Millie Sattler of New Hampshire, Christine Charles Amendolara of Canfield and Matthew Joni Colla of Austintown; 12 stepgrandchildren; his brother-in-law, Walter Barbara Sardich; and special friend, Mark Sue Irons.
William was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Violet Testa; a sister, Natalie; and a brother, Walter.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
William?s family would like to thank Dr. Marakis and Dr. Cropp and also a special thanks to Hospice of the Valley for all of their care.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
